A Quick Introduction to Salt as a Cure

Yes, it may sound like a simple everyday element we use all the time, but salt is an ancient mineral with precious cleansing properties and it has been used for clearing all around the world for many, many years. It has been known to be used for body purification and rituals because of its ability to absorb negative and low energies in the body and space, thus leaving the energy fresh, pure and feeling new.

The salt water cure in Feng Shui combines the strong cleansing effects of salt and water combined with the chemical reaction between metal and salt. For this effect, we use the traditional metal Chinese Coins.

When and how should a Salt Cure be placed?

When salt is being used for the cure it is transmuted and it is definitely not to be consumed; and in Feng Shui, this cure is renewed after a specific amount of time: After every one Lunar Year.
After the completion of this period a fresh salt cure is placed in the home or office before the Chinese New Year. This makes the salt cure a very special cure, since it will help you all year-round to keep energy in your spaces clear, it's the perfect clearing cure!

The salt cure will change over time, especially if there is a lot of negative energy in the space where the cure is placed. What will happen is that the container will start buidling up of Salt crystals and most likely overflow the edges. If this happens, this means that it's working! And if you notice that the build-up is very thick and feel that it may need changing for a fresh one, you can do so before the New Year.

Some salt water cures placed in offices or rooms with a lot of movement need changing more regularly. This just means that it's working perfectly.

The Salt Water Cure and the Feng Shui Flying Stars

Another way you can find out where to place your Salt Cure is by guiding yourself by the Annual Flying Stars.
The Salt Cure will help absorb the negative energy from the afflictive Flying Stars, which are:

Star #2 Illness
Star #3 Quarrelsome
Star #7 Robbery and Betrayal
TAI SUI Affliction
3 KILLINGS Affliction

Find out where these stars will be placed during 2019.

Pay attention if these stars are located anywhere you usually spend a lot of time in. These will be the priority spaces where to place your cure. However, if the star is located in a bathroom, storage, or unused space, you will not need to apply it.

How to Assemble your Feng Shui Salt Water Cure:

  • 1. Get your very own ready-to-set-up Salt Water Cure from Unique Feng Shui.
  • 2. Fill the container with the salt included in the set.
  • 3. Place it on a mat (in case of spills) or stand and display it wherever you need to cure to be.
  • 4. Leave the container open and in an open area. The cure will not work if it is placed inside an enclosed area such as a cupboard.
  • 5. Drop the coins inside the container on top of the salt, the coins should have the Yang side facing up.
  • 6. Fill the container with water slightly above the coins and salt.
  • 7. Add small amounts of water as needed.

How to dispose of the Feng Shui Salt Water Cure

This is a very important point. Because the Feng Shui cure will accumulate a lot of negative vibrations and energy, anyone disposing of it should be careful.
It will be of no use if you dispose of the components only (water, salt, coins) since this has already been affected by negative energy, rather properly discard the whole cure.

In some cases the cure will need replacement every couple of months, and in others just once or twice a year. It is advised that you keep an eye on it, once you see that it has done a lot of work, replace it with a fresh one.

Frequently asked questions:

  • I don't want the Salt Cure to be visible, what should I do?

If you don’t like how the cure looks like or wish to hide it you can always place it behind a décor object. Usually a nice plant does it! It does not need to be "visible" for it to work.
